Ans- In DD incharge of fighting fire is dock master.
Every day during tool box meeting in DD, all the work plan and fire fighting plan is discussed and amended, as in DD related to fire fighting equipment can be out of service for maintenance purpose.
As fire broke down in DD, dock master and team will lead to fight fire as per emergency fire fighting plan, as a onboard crew member, we have to assist them as required.
During fire in DD ,
●make sure dock master and dock authority and ships master informed.
●Ensure , ships crew are shifted to safe location, and mustered. And head count.
●Ensure ships int. shore connection ready , water available at all time.
●Ensure the dock yard worker team is evacuated,
● make communication with dock master and fire fighting team for fire fighting plan.
●Assist them as required – provide updated fire control plan,
●Assist for emergency escape route, location of fixed fire fighting system and activation procedure. ●Provide location of fireman outfit, and if need assist in donning.
●Ensure water available for fire fighting and boundary cooling through fire man( ISC)
Fire fighting team of dock master will lead, be in communication with dock master and observe the situation and assist as required.
As ship staff- look for another emergency- injury , death, if found – shift to safe location, first aid provide, handover to medical team, ensure proper treatment as required in hospital.
●Inbtw Ensure CO2 for flooding available at connection from shore, if need can use as required by dock master.
●Also make commincate with port for further assistance.

During all this scenario- make records of all activities, photo , videos, statement of facts, witness and take sign.
After dealing with fire –do damage assessment, RCA, Prepare Incident report, Assist H & M surveyor and P& I correspondent as required.
