Requirement for PMS onboard:
Its should be computer based and type approved by Class.
It should include at least the applicable machinery or Equipment
Should be able to produce maintenance history of Equipment of class items for a specified time period Show Critical items Jobs with Some priority Highlights.
Should be able to identify and trace the corrective maintenance and all damages /breakdown on class related items.
Should include periodic testing of controls ,alarms and safety components & systems as per class Rules. Changes to software shall be traceable and Documents and shall be presented to Surveyor at next annual survey
Afrter 6 months of operation of software an initial survey to be done to check the effectively
functionality of software
• An annual survey to be done to verify that the condition for maintaining the survey arrangement are complied with.
Factor to decide items has to be under PMS or CMS:
1. Makers recommendations
2. Pre indication of failure
3. Sensor selection -to be class approved
4. Sensor location- to be class approved.
5. Software -training part to be carried out
6. Criticality of the Equipment
7.Cost Benefit Analysis.
