4. Maker of TC and authorized workshop to be contacted.
5. Damage assessment to be carried out.
6. Spares required for repair, to be ordered on urgent basis.
7. If any injuries – to be Attended, P&l club informed.
8. Documents to be prepared:
* Statements – C/E and Master Statements of facts. * Duty engineer and oiler Witness Report
* Records – Engine log book parameters * Log book * Alarm history * Maintenance records/PMS history * Alarm and safety test records * Lube oil analysis reports. * Last Performance test/calibration /survey records * Proof of OEM parts used (damage surveyor will check if OEM parts are being used) * Photographs * All correspondence with company/class/ makers, etc * Damaged parts - Keep for evidence. * Class surveyor inspection report (in case available) * Superintendent inspection report (in case available)
Technical part – for vishwa
1.Look for spares and try to repair with onboard staff.
2.If spares are not available, then raise urgent requisition and prepare to convert generator to be naturally aspirated.
Blank and isolate Turbocharger from the inlet and exhaust piping. Open covers on the scavenge manifold - connect ducts with blowers into these covers for air intake. Can make temporary arrangement with felt filter/wet gunny bags to act as air filter. Keep the generator ready for this operation, to be used only in exceptional circumstance.
3.At about 30% (60% for vishwa) load generator can run on natural aspiration.
4.To make Generator naturally aspirated –
Engine room to be kept manned, other two running generators to be frequently monitored.
