A – 1. Inform Master, Carry out D&A test in front of witness.

2.If BAC in permissible limits, then it is not an issue if the watchkeeper had his liquor min. 4 hours prior watch.

3.Limits - Breath analyzer 0.25mg/L and 0.05% BAC because the ratio is 1/2100.

4.If BAC is more than permissible limits as per SMS, give him rest for that time and you as a C/E take over the watch from 3/E.

5.Counsel the 2/E next day, and gather statement of facts from 2/E , 3/Eand witness.

6.Proceed as per company policy regarding D&A .

7.If he is a habitual drinker, verbal warning followed by written warning can be issued upon reoccurance of such Incident.
