Ans: 1. Ascertain the reason how and why oil came out. Sound all DB tanks.
ascertain the oil is coming out from your own vessel only and not from other vessel.
2.Inform company, Flag state and P&l, nearest Coastal state or port state.
3.Compare Tank level with ER logbook, create trend of level falling down. Alarm for Low level may trigger. 4.Changeover to Strn tube Low gravity tank. Adjust aft trim. Reduce RPM or stop engine operation.
5.Use Hydrox 550 or Hydrox 21 additive in LO. It will repair the seal. Assess the rate of leakage.
6.Put seal 3S to use. [Lindemann MPS 895 for seal repair]
7.For fwd seal, liner can be shifted to smooth surface for better sealing. For aft seal, diver assistance required. 8.Arrange for diver company and class surveyor for inspection and manufacturer service for carrying out permanent repairs or seal replacement. Inform H & M.
9.Might have to divert to port of refuge / DD or IWS. Prepare accordingly.
