Carry out Initial investigation and note the findings.
Report to the Company, Flag state, Class, Port Authorities.
Carry out RCA and send to the company and makers for any quick remedy and try to repair with ship staff / local approved workshop.
Urgently get in touch with makers if identical engine can be quickly installed before the vessel sails out.
Add to the Defect List, Report NC
If lifeboat Engine cannot be repaired/ replaced, then seek dispensation and vessel to carry additional survival craft to the satisfaction of Admin/ RO for the duration of dispensation. Additional RA to be required.
Arrangements to be made to land the damaged engine ashore and company to arrange repair/ replacement of the engine at the earliest.
Once the engine is in good working order, request admin to lift up the dispensation and Class to lift up COC.
