Inform Flag and seek dispensation, Insurer
Check SMS.
Inform Port of refuge,
Inform makers for ME repair and CO2, arrange service to restore Engine room.
Arrange towage/ salvage and take to port of refuge, as per the condition.
ME operational-
Fire has been extinguished, assess damage in the ER. RCA, Accident Report submitted. CAP discussed.
We’ll check and comply with SMS on procedure for such situations Prepare an after-flooding C/L and comply with it.
Confirm the m/c spaces safe to enter. Presume the ER is in a very bad state.
Bring it back to safe working area i.e reinstallation of laggings. Confirm no hotspots.
NO HOTWORK to be planned, job priority to safe movement of vessel only.
Try out systems and AE, ME one by one. Emcy equipment especially fire detection, Water mist, Emcy fire pp etc. must be tried out.
Prepare RA and Additional Safety Plan (Corrective action Plan), discuss with company and submit to Flag.
Seek for dispensation for CO2 system inoperational.
Inform Port of refuge, agents etc.
Commence sailing to port of refuge.
Watchkeeping- manned, additional fire patrolling and frequent hotspot check.
Contact makers for prompt supply and service attendance at port of refuge.
Accident report, Damage assessment, and cooperate with Fire investigation.
