A- Ballast Water Management Plan
- It is the document that details the procedure for the discharge of ballast watr & the handling of sediment in accordance with reg D-1 (exchange) & reg D-2(Treatment) & reg B5 standard (Sediment management).
- Conducting BW discharge & the cleaning of sediments in accordance with the BWMP ensures compliance with regulations D-1 or D-2, B-5
- This plan must be specific to the vessel & eqpt & must be approved for each vessel by the flag admin or class if authorized.
- A chapter for contingency measures in the event that the treatment system malfunctions is recommended. Some flgs require chapter for contingency measures.
