Voyage Charter responsibilities
Charter must provide –
●Freight as per CP (Dead freight if applicable)
●Safe port [safely into the port, safe stay at port, safe cargo operation, safe moving out , politically safe] and safe berth [all conditions of safe port]
●Load and discharging of cargo
●Provide Documents and give declaration abt cargo
●Cargo Insurance by charter.
●Provide compensation If damage by steeve door
●If HME , then cargo residue disposal by charter expanses.
●Securing material removal by charter.
●Should not ask to load sanctioned cargo.
●Must accept NOR (if valid)
●Should complete cargo operation with provided Iaytime ●If applicable must provide – dumarage
●Must contribute in G.A if applicable.
Time Charter responsibilities-
●Hire payment
●Operational expenses( bunker, port or toll dues etc) ●Cargo Insurance
●Safe operation of cargo and ship routine safe.
●Provide safe port and berth.
●Boiler cleaning should be done in operation or certain time to be provided.
●Overtime for preparing cargo tanks.
●Master will remain under Charterer’s direction for vessel’s employment.
●Obliges the charterer to direct master wrt vessel employment and navigation actions.
●Charterers are obliged to indemnify the owner against any liabilities arising out of master or agents from signing BOL(because it is primarily the charterer’s responsibility).
