Ans. Oversight means any activity by a Flag state carried out to assure an RO's service complies with IMO and national requirements of the recognizing Flag state.
The Flag keeps Oversight by following methods: -
1.Flag state Inspections
2.Supplementary Surveys (e.g. SEQ intermediate survey by MMD)
3.Access to all the rules of ROs
4.Having a Flag state person involved in the framing of the rules & regulations of RO.
5.Reporting System in case of Major Deficiency, NC, MNC, Accident, Major Breakdown etc.
6.Feedback from PSC inspections
7.Audit Report of ROs by the ACBs or Audit of RO by the Flag themselves
