PSC can ask for the bunker sample.
To be opened in front of the C/E or master
Make entry (ORB, ER logbook,)
• Take receipt from them.
• We cannot deny them sample.
• PSC can take samples from any of the bottles (mariupol and ship sample)
• For Marpol simple limits = <0.5% S
• For inuse sample limits=<0.53% S
• Marpol simple shall be used to verify the sulfur content of the fuel oil delivered to a ship
• Testing Lab should have accreditation in respect of the test method
• Marpol simple to be delivered by a competent Auth. to the lab
• Check the seal numbers and if seal found broken then reject the sample.

.1unseal the sample;
.2 ensure that the sample is thoroughly homogenized;
.3 draw two subsamples from the sample; and
.4 reseal the sample and record the new reseal details on the test record
.5 carry out testing and update the results.
