A – All the certificates and Documents related to L/B must be present and valid.
1.Overall condition of lifeboat and the Davit.
2.Pyrotechniques must not be expired. Any consumables that get expired must be renewed properly with correct items.
3.Fire extinguisher must be periodically checked, record maintained.
4.Launching Procedure must be visible near the lifeboat.
5.Operational test of Engine regardless of Ambient temperature. (must have antifreeze) 6.Last lifeboat Drill record, lowering to the water date and record.
7.Thorough examination of launching appliances including dynamic testing of winch brake-
a.Dynamic- 1.1 times of the weight of lifeboat, let the boat freely fall by 3m and then apply brakes, should not creep more than 1m.
b.Static- Hold 1.5 times of the SWL capacity of the davit.
