Means Synthetic fuel produced from renewable energy sources,is being considered as alternative to fossil fuels for powering ships.it can be produced using renewable electricity,water and CO2 through a process known as power to liquid.
It involves converting renewable electricity into H2 through electrolysis, and then combining H2 with CO2 captured from atmosphere, to produce synthetic liquid fuel.
One of the best advantage of e- fuel is that it can be used direct substitute for fossil fuels,without the need for modification to existing engines.
