A –As 24 hrs prior, vessel must be around 200nm away from the port – Refer to BW MP for emergency contingency.
1.Entry in BWRB under Code F.
2.Carry out RCA of the situation. Inform- Company, Flag, Class, Next Port of call, Enter in defect list.
3.Raise requisition for urgent supply. Seek makers’ advice through tech deptt.
3.Knowledge about Designated areas for Ballast Exchange from the next Port authorities.
Conditions for Ballast Exchange-
200nm away from the land and 200m depth.
If above is not possible, 50nm away and 200m depth.
Port authorities will decide whether to approve for Ballast Exchange or not, in consultation with adjacent and other states.
4.Reception facilities to be arranged in case Ballast exchange cannot be performed. Pump capacity, Ballast volumes, Tank and line volume capacity to be reported.
5.Dispensation to be taken.
