A – Critical equipment are those, sudden operational failure of which can lead to hazardous situation. Identification is done using FMECA technique.
1.RPN = Severity X Occurrence X detectability (>250, or as per SMS)
2.Criticality analysis = Item unreliability x Mode ratio of unreliability x probability of loss
Amendment of the list of Critical equipment can be proposed to the DP (in conjunction with QHSE deptt.) and after whose approval we can revise the list.
CE or the ship staff can only suggest , it is Company’s responsibility to add/ amend the list of critical equipment.
