A – Management of Change-

MOC is the evaluation of Potential impacts of proposed changes to a system. Types of Changes-
1.Equipment (New installation: BWTS)
2.Operational (Derating of Engine or boiler)
3.Organizational (Change of Flag or Transfer of Class)
Purpose of MOC is to reduce the level of risk whenever there is a change in the system. But MOC is not requested when there is already a standard procedure to deal with such proposed change.
MOC required only when there is no existing procedure to carry out Risk assessment for the proposed change to a system.
The whole idea of MOC is –
1.No unacceptable risk.
2.Minimize impact to Safety, Environment, Quality, Reputation, Security.
