Harbour Salvage- Process of salvage operation in sheltered waters, port or harbour. It is a fixed salvage and the reward is pre-decided. No LOF is involved and delay is allowed on Salvor’s part unless evident threat to environment.
Cargo Salvage- Cargo salvage involves the recovery and salvage of cargo from a vessel or structure that has experienced an accident, such as sinking, grounding, or damage. Salvage operations aim to retrieve the cargo intact or in the best possible condition to minimize losses for the owners, insurers, and other stakeholders involved. This process often requires specialized equipment, skilled personnel, and careful planning to mitig ate further damage and environmental impact while maximizing the recovery of the cargo.
This is maybe more important than salvage of the ship itself as the cargo being a threat to the ship. The priority is to get rid of the hazardous elements and valuable cargo.
Machinery Salvage- Machinery salvage refers to the process of recovering and salvaging machinery or equipment from a vessel or structure that has been damaged, sunk, or stranded. This can involve specialized equipment and techniques to safely remove, repair, and sometimes refurbish the machinery for reuse or disposal.
