ME Turbocharger damaged, how to raise claim?

if my Main Engine turbocharger is damaged, first I will ensure safe operation and prevent consequential damage. I will inform Master, company and superintendent, and the owner will immediately notify the H&M underwriter through the broker. For a substantial casualty, the insurer will appoint an H&M surveyor.

I will preserve all damaged parts and evidence, record photographs, alarms, logbook entries and operating parameters, and arrange investigation with Class and maker as required. I will submit the CE casualty report, PMS and overhaul history, maker's report, Class report, survey report, quotations and final repair invoices.

If the proximate cause is an insured peril, the H&M insurer will indemnify the insured repair cost subject to policy conditions and deductible. However, ordinary wear and tear, gradual deterioration or failure resulting from lack of due diligence may not be covered.”

Actions to be taken-
1.Preserve the damaged parts as evidence.

2.Take photographs.

3.I will immediately inform:

Master
Company / Superintendent
H&M insurer through the owner's insurance department or broker
Classification Society, if class involvement is required
Turbocharger maker/service engineer

4. Accident/ Incident Report to be made.

5. Entry in the Technical Defect list.

6. Makers or authorized workshop to be contacted for suggestions/ inputs.

7. Damage Assessment Report to be made.

8. Spares and shore assistance (if required) to be ordered on urgent basis.

1.Valid H & M Policy copy.

2.Application form for Claim

3.Official Logbook with relevant entry

4.Engine Logbook abstract.

5.Last Engine Performance Report

6.Last TC overhaul Report

7.PMS record for TC.

8.Proof that OEM parts were used during last overhaul. (Invoices and photographs of the overhaul)
