Although generally appointed by the Shipowner, the GA Adjuster is bound to act in an Independent and Impartial manner.
The primary role is to adjust the G.A. i.e. to ascertain what is due from the various stakeholders during a loss in a G.A Incident. It comprises of-
1.Preparation of Claims- G.A. / P.A. Calculation, Collision Liability Calculation, Sue&Labor Calculation, Salvage Charges etc.
2.Collection of G.A security and Salvage Security (in case Salvage services required in a G.A Incident.)
3.To prepare G.A statements.
4.To execute claim settlements for all stakeholders impartially.
